Of the new album, frontman Awsten Knight shares, “It’s just more. Everything about it is expanded and bigger. We wanted to push the boundaries to show people that you can be more than one thing. This isn’t just a “pop-punk” band and I think when people hear the album, it’ll be pretty apparent. There are songs that have elements of jazz, hip-hip, pop, indie, electronic, punk, etc. As far as the lyrics go, they’re more personal than they’ve been on any other Waterparks release. This album has been in the works since August or September of 2015, and in that time I’ve felt and dealt with a lot of different things. I was probably more open than I should be with some stuff but it’s fine. Honest songs are always best. It’s also got me at my happiest, so that’s a thing too.”

2016 was a truly groundbreaking for Waterparks, who signed to Equal Vision Records, partnered with MDDN co., released Cluster, embarked on their first ever full US and UK tours, and landed spots for Knight on multiple covers of Kerrang! and Alternative Press magazines. The band has remained on the road non-stop since their signing – sharing stages with Good Charlotte, All Time Low, Sleeping With Sirens, State Champs and more.

Double Dare debuted on numerous Billboard Charts including Top New Artist, where it charted for eight consecutive weeks. Leading up to the full album premiere, Waterparks saw exclusive looks from Sirius XM Hits 1 for the premiere of “Hawaii (Stay Awake)” on Pete Wentz’s Hits & Misses show and with BBC Radio 1 for the premiere of “Royal” on Rock Show with Daniel P Carter, where the song was also named the Rockest Record and has since seen additional spins on radio shows including Annie Mac, Clara Amfo, Huw Stephens (hosted by Phil Taggert) and more.

Waterparks is comprised of vocalist/guitarist Awsten Knight, guitarist/vocalist Geoff Wigington, and drummer/vocalist Otto Wood.
