ENVY ON THE COAST PREMIERE “VIRGINIA GIRLS” ON CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND

Having recently announced their reincarnation and long awaited new music to a rapt fanbase, Envy On The Coast are poised for an impressive comeback. Their highly anticipated EP entitled ‘Ritual’ drops June 30th via Equal Vision Records and will bridge the bands former signature sound with their new alt-rock leaning direction. Returning members Ryan Hunter and Brian Byrne both evolved as musicians in the years since parting ways with EOTC, exploring a myriad of sounds and influences. Naturally, that informed their sonic reunion and helped the duo hone the next incarnation of Envy On The Coast.

The band offered up a taste of the project with their track, “Manic State Park.” The song is infused with a familiar Envy On The Coast ‘Lowcountry’-era vibe with hints of what fans can expect from the pair in the future. Today, they unveil a new track, “Virginia Girls,” a swagger-filled track with grit and style that highlights Hunter and Byrne’s songwriting maturation. Along with the exclusive premiere, Consequence of Sound caught up with Byrne to discuss the song’s inception and how it evolved over time.
