Modern Life Is War breaking up

We’re saddened to announce that Modern Life Is War from Marshalltown, Iowa will be breaking up after one final tour. Over the last six years the band has risen up to become one of the most hardworking, honest, and influential bands in hardcore today.

After a series of releases through Deathwish Inc, Modern Life Is War most recently released Midnight In America with Equal Vision Records in August of 2007.

MSG NY Television interviews The Color Fred

The Madison Square Garden TV Network filmed a short segment on The Color Fred that aired last night for New York-area subscribers.

Fred is touring the country right now with Angels & Airwaves (ex-Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge), with support from Meg & Dia, and Ace Enders. The Fall of Troy announce spring headlining tour

The Fall of Troy will be heading out on their first nationwide headlining tour since the release of Manipulator last May. This will likely be the last time the band tours the States (and a lil bit o’ Canada) before they pack it in for the summer and begin working on a new record. Joining them on tour will be The Dear Hunter, Foxy Shazam, and Tera Melos. Tickets go on-sale this Friday (Feb 15th), so check back for more info and make sure you don’t miss this one. It’s going to be one hell of a show!

MySpace is very pleased to announce that their next FREE ‘Secret Show’ will be this Thursday, February 14th (Valentines Day!) and will be headlined by none other than Chiodos! Opening the show will be Chicago’s very own Powerspace (Fueled By Ramen Records).

Before the show (at 4:00pm) Chiodos is doing a signing at FYE in Chicago – so make an entire day of Chiodos if you dare! Signing (4:00pm) then Secret Show (7:00pm).

Pierce The Veil covers Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”

“Heee, Heee!” Pierce The Veil have posted a cover version of Michael Jackson’s 1983 hit single, “Beat It” on AbsolutePunk.net!

The band is performing their version of “Beat It” on tour with Emery and Mayday Parade, which just kicked off this week and will continue through the end of March.

Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” won two Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance, and Rolling Stone ranked the song #337 on their list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.

Although you won’t find “Beat It” on Pierce The Veil’s debut album, A Flair For The Dramatic, you will find eleven tracks of energetic, aggressive, melodic rock that SHOULD be on Rolling Stone’s top 500.

The Fall of Troy at Australian Soundwave Festival

Seattle’s The Fall of Troy will be heading across the pond to perform at the Australian Soundwave Festival from February 23rd through March 3rd.

Soundwave is a touring festival of Australia that will hit five major cities in the country – Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. It’s all about introducing Australian fans to great new bands, and The Fall of Troy are proud to be a part of the bill! This trip will be the band’s first to visit the Aussie’s and they’re excited to play in front of an entirely new crowd!
