Detroit based post-rock, indie sextet Bars of Gold recently put out new LP SHELTERS and today they’ve released a video from it for “$20”. Directed and animated by guitarist Scotty Iulianelli the video is a visual representation of how he sees the world. Since suffering a concussion in 2016 where he was knocked unconscious for an undetermined amount of time Iulianell started to see the world in a new way where geometry and math in the universe started to reveal itself differently. His new perspective flows through the video with explosive colors, shapes, and vividly illustrated portraits of the band. The album is available now via Equal Vision Records and be sure to see them live this spring/summer across the […]

New Jersey rock band Gatherers has shared “Sick, Sad Heart,” a visceral new single unlike anything they’ve ever written. Fans can enter the band’s darkly captivating world by streaming the song exclusively on Kerrang.
“We wanted it to be moody but mechanical; melodically pretty but gross in tonality. This one lives in a completely different world from the songs on ‘We Are Alive Beyond Repair’,” shares vocalist Rich Weinberger. “Rob primarily plays baritone guitar and an OP-1, creating this ugly identity for the song. The drums sound huge and dynamic with Adam’s performance alongside our new bassist Zach Crockett. They pushed the song to move in ways completely different from our previous material.”
He continues: “Musically, we were in part inspired by […]

Much to the delight of their dedicated fanbase, Louisiana post-hardcore outfit, As Cities Burn, announced last week that they would be releasing Scream Through The Walls, their first album in ten years, this summer. The lead single from their highly-anticipated new record was also revealed that day in the form of “Chains” – a driving four minute anthem pulsing with urgency and the band’s signature blend of visceral energy and raw thought-provoking lyrics.
Today, the band returned with the music video for “Chains” – stoking the flame of anticipation building around Scream Through The Walls. The video opens with a quote from American author, Florence King, which directly addresses both the narrative of the video and the lyrical topic of […]
