While in the studio recording their forthcoming full-length, Equal Vision Records’ Secret Space filmed a heartwrenching acoustic version of “I Will Not Survive This” – a song from the band’s recently released self-titled debut EP. The video, which showcases Dean Tartaglia’s ethereal vocals and rich tones, is premiering now at

The Toledo, OH-based trio draws influences from modern indie pop and 90s emo rock; And is comprised of vocalist / multi-instrumentalist Dean Tartaglia, bassist Zach Ruetz and drummer Steve Warstler.

Secret Space is currently on tour with The Flats and has just finished recording their debut full-length with producer Will Yip (Circa Survive, La Dispute, mewithoutYou).

“‘I Will Not Survive’ is the first song I wrote that became a Secret Space song,” reveals Tartaglia. “I have been playing it solo/acoustic at shows for about three years now. And while I love the version we recorded for our EP, I’ve always enjoyed playing the stripped down version more…it gets the message of the song across in a more visceral and intimate way. I’ve always wanted to record a live acoustic version, so getting the chance to do so with Will Yip during a break from making our upcoming LP at Studio 4 was a dream scenario. I’m very fortunate that we decided to film it and that we got it in one take, we captured a really special moment.”

Secret Space EP was produced by Mat Kerekes (Citizen) and is available now on all digital retailers and on vinyl, CD and cassette at, and for a limited time only is available for free via Bandcamp at
