A LOT LIKE BIRDS ANNOUNCES SPRING HEADLINE TOUR; OWEL SUPPORTS

Sacramento rock band A Lot Like Birds is thrilled to announce that they will be embarking on a full US headline tour this spring in support of their forthcoming album DIVISI, due out May 5th, 2017 via Equal Vision Records. The tour, which features support from Household, Hearts Like Lions, and OWEL, kicks off in Albuquerque on April 25th. VIP ticket packages, including an exclusive acoustic performance, are available now, here: Alotlikebirds.soundrink.com. The band’s complete album pre-order options will launch in the coming weeks. On the upcoming tour and album, the band shares: “Everything about DIVISI has been a step into new territory, but one the universe assured us was in the right direction. We are in a better place than we have ever been: Cory blew us all away when he stepped up to the plate as our front man, and we gained a new bassist/best friend in Matt Coate. We evolved our style into something we feel represents where we are in our lives, we upped our production, and we have a whole new team working with us.

The DIVISI tour was no exception; we loved the new record from our friends and label-mates in OWEL, and we’ve been huge fans of Hearts Like Lions for a while now. We’re also stoked to have our new friends in Household joining us on the road. It kind of all just fell into place.”

A Lot Like Birds’ constant musical evolution and entrancing live shows, combined with their down-to-earth personalities, proved to be just the right fit for Equal Vision Records, who signed the band in 2012. “Signing to Equal Vision used to just be a daydream for most of us,” explains lead singer Cory Lockwood. “When we were growing up and still playing in previous bands, Equal Vision was putting out CDs by incredible artists that we admire like Bear vs Shark, The Fall of Troy and Circa Survive.”

Today A Lot Like Birds shares a spot on the Equal Vision Roster with the impressive likes of Saves The Day, Say Anything, Matt Pryor (of The Get Up Kids), The Dear Hunter, Eisley, I the Mighty, Vinnie Caruana, and more.

DIVISI will be the band’s second release on the Upstate NY-based independent label, and the first featuring their brand new line up: Cory Lockwood (vocals), Michael Franzino (guitar), Ben Wiacek (guitar), Matt Coate (bass/vocals), and Joe Arrington (drums). The album, which represents a dramatic shift in sound and a new direction for the band, will be released on May 5th, 2017.
