A Lot Like Birds premieres “Connector” music video on Bloody-Disgusting.com
Sacramento’s A Lot Like Birds has partnered with bloody-disgusting.com
to premiere their incredible new music video for “Connector”.
“Even though we put everything we had into painting the picture of the No Place house through words and sound on the album, John Howe crafted a visual tour for all of us, starting in the only place that connects all rooms to one another,” shares Cory Lockwood, one of the band’s duel vocalists/lyricists.
“If the house is a creature, the hallway is its spine and as it falls apart, so does everything it touches. The deterioration of an entire body of rooms based on the fall of an overlooked structure that holds them together was the founding theme of “Connector”. And as we explored that idea, we noticed more and more. The similarities between passing through a hallway and passing our time, the way we hang pictures of ourselves along the wall but never look at them, the people we run into when we go anywhere (not necessarily as literal as from one room to another in a house) and how easily we view them as obstacles and forget them or figure out better ways to get around them.”
“Connector” comes from A Lot Like Birds’ recently released album, No Place, which explores the emotions behind rooms in a home, taking listeners on an eerie roller coaster of beautiful chaos, with arching cinematic interludes laced between destructively gut-wrenching and chill-inducing songs. An in-depth track-by-track feature written by the band can be found on RockSound.tv, giving further insight into the elaborate writing and recording process for No Place.
Today is also the kick off of A Lot Like Birds’ full US headline tour with Sianvar, Stolas and The Venetia Fair. The coast-to-coast run starts in San Francisco and wraps up on February 2 in Chico, CA.
