EISLEY PREMIERES “LOUDER THAN A LION” FT. ANTHONY GREEN
Indie pop outfit Eisley has just released an incredible new song called “Louder Than A Lion”. The track features guest vocals from Circa Survive frontman Anthony Green and comes from Eisley’s fifth full-length, I’m Only Dreaming and can be heard now at soundcloud.com/equalvision and via digital retailers. The album was recorded in Tyler, TX with producer Will Yip (Circa Survive, Balance & Composure, Lauryn Hill) and will be released on February 17 via Equal Vision Records.
“This song started out as a bit of a dark love song to my daughters,” reveals vocalist/guitarist Sherri DuPree-Bemis. “I struggle with sleep anxiety and it’s been a dark spot in my life for years. I wrote it to them, wanting them to know they could always sleep tight because I’d always be awake, watching over them, keeping the darkness away. (‘Because I’m louder than a lion, my hands wipe out the ghosts. I’m brighter than a diamond my light will shine the most’). I realized that even if I can’t sleep well, I can at least watch over my daughters as they rest peacefully; Even though being awake through the night alone can be very lonely and dark. Anthony Green wrote his own lyrics for his part, He sings, ‘Lovely, let me be still tonight. Shadows circling, your eyes won’t shut’. It fits so perfectly.”
I’m Only Dreaming pre-order options are available now at eisley.merchnow.com, and include instant MP3 downloads of “Louder Than A Lion”, “You Are Mine” and “Defeatist”, which originally premiered on Billboard.com. The first pressing of I’m Only Dreaming on vinyl includes five variants: opaque oatmeal (tour and MerchNOW variant – limited to 1500), green/cream haze (MerchNOW variant – limited to 500), opaque light teal (tour VIP bundle variant – limited to 500), blue/green in white retail variant – limited to 1000) and red/black swirl (indie exclusive – limited to 300).
The band will soon head out on a full US headline tour, which will kick off on February 16 in Houston, TX. Support bands will include Civilian and Backwards Dancer. All upcoming dates can be found below.
Eisley’s upcoming tour lineup will include: Sherri DuPree-Bemis (vocals, guitars), Garron DuPree (bass), Remington DuPree (drums), Elle Puckett (lead guitars, vocals) and Jedidiah Lachmann (keys).
I’m Only Dreaming stays true to form of the band’s signature dreamy sound, with DuPree-Bemis elaborating, “Musically, you could say it’s classic Eisley, in the sense that it’s melodic, moody pop and is written from the heart. Lyrically, it’s very whimsical; it has a vibe that will take you into its own world and let you escape your normal life for a few minutes. I like to cloak things in a little mystery and romance; I think it’s part of what makes all of Eisley’s songs sound like they’re from the same world. Every record is like opening and reading a book in a series.”
