Equal Vision Records and The Soroka Agency announce partnership
Equal Vision Records and The Soroka Agency are pleased to announce a new partnership, which will offer full tour booking services to independent artists. The partnership allows developing bands and agents to work and grow together.
Owner and agent, Ryan Soroka, has been promoting shows since the age of 13 and officially launched The Soroka Agency (formerly known as Soroka Productions) in 2004.
Soroka explains, “I wanted to be more committed to developing bands than just putting on shows, so I started trying to figure out the booking world through trial by fire, at a very young age. I kept striving to figure out how to make it all work. Once I started developing acts from the bottom up, word spread and I started receiving offers from different bands, labels, and managers who were interested in having me join their team to work on acts together. I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without people like John D’Esposito at Bamboozle, Eric Tobin at Hopeless Records and Dan Sandshaw at Equal Vision Records.”
Working with Soroka is This Time Next Year’s Brad Wiseman, whom officially joined The Soroka Agency in 2007. The two share booking duties equally, with Soroka maintaining the pop/indie/pop-punk bands on the roster and Wiseman focusing on the heavier/hardcore acts.
“I started my career in the same way Ryan did, putting on shows and booking shows for bands,” states Steve Reddy, owner of Equal Vision Records. “I’ve always felt that a good relationship between a record label and a booking agent is a key factor in helping new bands make it to the next level. We are pleased and honored to be working with The Soroka Agency. I’m confident our relationship will help both parties navigate their way through the ever changing landscape of the music business.”
The Soroka Agency’s diverse roster includes: Action Item (Radio Disney Top 30), Amely (Fearless Records), Divided By Friday (Hopeless Records), For The Foxes (Hopeless Records), Into It. Over It. (No Sleep Records), Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground, Life On Repeat (Equal Vision Records), Mozart Season (Equal Vision Records), ORBS (Equal Vision Records), The Story So Far, This Time Next Year (Equal Vision Records), and Wild Orchid Children (Equal Vision Records).
This will be the independent label’s second time partnering with a booking agency. Equal Vision Records previously worked with agent Dave Shapiro, and Velocity Touring, from 2004 to 2006. After launching his career out of the Equal Vision offices, Shapiro later went on to join The Agency Group and still works with several Equal Vision artists.
