Never Sleep Again Tour 2008 with The Color Fred
After spending the summer on the Vans Warped Tour and appearing on the cover of Alternative Press’ July 2008 issue, Fred Mascherino is hitting the road with his band The Color Fred and friends Hawthorne Heights and Emery for the 2008 “Never Sleep Again” Tour, kicking off this week in St. Petersburg, Florida. Before the start of the tour, The Color Fred will be headlining at a show at Beamer’s in Panama City, FL on October 16th.
The tour – which will play 37 shows upon completion – makes a stop at the high-profile Monster Mash Festival in Plano, TX on Halloween night and will be the first chance for fans to hear new songs that Fred has been writing for an acoustic EP and a full-length follow-up to 2007’s Bend To Break.
In an early giving-spirit, The Color Fred has teamed up with Modlife to give away a pair of tickets to each show. Fans can register to win by simply signing up for a free Modlife.com account and then visiting Modlife.com/ColorMyTickets. There will be one winner per show and users are allowed to enter once a day to increase chances of winning! Premium account users will receive an autographed poster and entry into an exclusive meet & greet during the tour. Members of The Color Fred can often be found on the site chatting with fans and friends via webcam.
In other show news, Fred Mascherino has just been confirmed to open Day 1 of Coheed and Cambria’s Neverender shows in New York City. On October 22nd, the night Coheed performs The Second Stage Turbine Blade (released on Equal Vision in 2002) in its entirety, Mascherino will perform a solo acoustic set. “Breaking Pangaea was the first band that ever brought them on tour,” recalls Mascherino, “so they invited me to play.”
To close out the year, The Color Fred has just been announced to perform at the “Jingle My Bells” Festival in Torrington, CT on December 21st with The Friday Night Boys, There For Tomorrow, The Morning Light and more to be announced. Tickets for the event will go on sale November 1st via the venue’s website.
