NIGHT VERSES PREMIERE “VICE WAVE” VIDEO WITH LOUDWIRE

Southern California progressive instrumental rock trio, Night Verses, are sharing their haunting new video for “Vice Wave” today via a premiere with Loudwire. “Vice Wave” begins on the softer side of the band’s musical spectrum before escalating to one of the heaviest moments on From The Gallery Of Sleep. Visually, the video calls to mind a horror classic, complete with an unexpected twist that alludes back to the album artwork. From The Gallery Of Sleep is available now on Equal Vision Records / Graphic Nature Records and you can watch the video for “Vice Wave” on YouTube or stream the track on Spotify.

Speaking on “Vice Wave”, Aric Improta (drums) says:

“This was one of the last songs written for the record. It started with Nicks intro lead and ended up in a direction none of us expected. I think the big turning point in the writing process was when Nick added those massive fuzz/noise ring outs in the bridge. Once those were in place, the rest of the song quickly started to gravitate in that direction. Side note: The digital percussion sounds were influenced by all the Ministry, Arca and Post-era Bjork I was listening to at the time.

As far as the video, we are all pretty big on making our own artwork and teaming up with our friends to get exactly what we have in mind. We worked with Chris Abouabdo on this and built around some of the imagery we put together for the vinyl booklet. He’s amazing at bringing life to our initial visual ideas and developing scenes that feel very immersive while simultaneously complimenting the initial score, to the point where it almost starts to feel like the music and visuals were inspired by the video instead of the other way around. We love what he did on this and aim to continue working with him in the future.”

After sharing their first single “Phoenix IV: Levitation” with Revolver Magazine and the following single “Infinity Beach” on MetalSucks, the album has received numerous stellar review from the likes of Dead Press, ItDjents, Heavy Blog Is Heavy and more. Night Verses are currently on a full US tour to celebrate the release of From The Gallery of Sleep with Strawberry Girls.

Earlier this year, the heavy post rock outfit, shared the news that they would be continuing on as an instrumental band without their long-term vocalist and surprise released their first new music, a 3 song EP, Copper Wasp. While that sort of change up might have knocked a band back a few steps, Night Verses have come through as an entirely different beast, letting each member shine all the brighter.

With the release of their new full length, From The Gallery Of Sleep, Night Verses are redefining what a progressive metal band can sound like, pushing the boundaries, not only without a vocalist, but by bending the sounds that are “generally acceptable” within a heavy record. The record is a new step forward and sees Night Verses moving on from what they used to be by challenging preconceived notions about their sound and heavy music in general. These rising from the ashes type of analogies are extremely “on the nose”, as the band would say, with tracks like “Phoenix IV: Levitation” but are even more extreme when listening to tracks such as, “No Moon”, “Glitch In The You I Thought I Knew” and “No.O” that flow together seamlessly, while still keeping the listener on edge between incredibly technical riffs and lulls of soft beat percussion and atmospheric noise.

Originally formed in 2012, they went on to sign with Equal Vision Records and share the stage with acts such as Converge, letlive., The Chariot and more. While the loss of a vocalist might break other bands, Night Verses’ live show, which they’ve always been highly regarded for, has only grown more intense and dynamic.
