NORTHERN FACES ANNOUNCE S/T DEBUT FULL LENGTH

““Cops Come” is an infectious rager that roars and sizzles; it reminds me of the hooks heard in vintage Social D, the angular drive of Fugazi, and the fist-pumping ferocity of Rocket From the Crypt and Japandroids.” – XPN

Today Northern Faces unveil their plan to release their self-titled debut full length album through Equal Vision Records on April 21st. Accompanying the announcement is the stream of album track, “Cops Come,” a driving rock track wrought with vocal hooks and searing guitar solos. Northern Faces will be the follow-up to their impressive debut EP Southern Places, which was released in March 2013. The Northern Faces LP can be preordered on iTunes today with an immediate download of “Cops Come” [here].

Northern Faces are looking forward to an extensive touring schedule lined up to and through the release of their new record. They will be making their way down from their hometown of Albany, NY to play shows with The Vinyl Thief on their way to Austin, TX to perform at SXSW Music Festival later this month. They will also be joining The Dear Hunter on the road in May including multiple nights in Boston and New York before heading out West to play iconic clubs such as the Troubadour in LA and The Independent in San Francisco. See below for complete North American tour dates.

“‘Cops Come” is one of those songs that we’ve always wanted to write,” co-vocalist/guitarist Bryan Shortell admits, “We love British rock, big hooks, and Stevie Ray style guitar solos. This song has a bit of all of that in there, but I think it still sounds very ‘right now’ – it still has a modern feel. “Guitar” is kind of a dirty word in the alternative world right now, and we want to try and change that. Consider this song our battle cry.” In teasing the album release late last year, Northern Faces released fellow album track, “Wait, Wait, Wait” as the precusor to “Cops Come.”

Northern Faces formed in early 2012 and is comprised of Bryan Shortell (vocals and guitar), Marco Testa (vocals and guitar), and Matt Ippolito (bass). The band’s debut show was an opening slot for The Kooks and Royal Teeth in early 2012; And have since toured and shared stages with likes of The 1975, Say Anything, RX Bandits, Electric Guest, Civil Twilight, Futurebirds, Frank Iero, Heartless Bastards and more, and performed at SXSW and CMJ Festivals.
