Today, via a premiere with Entertainment Weekly, Say Anything has released a visceral new video for “Give A Damn” that expertly matches the raw emotion and energy of the album opener from the band’s latest release I Don’t Think It Is (available now). In Max’s words the video “explores the nature of growing to dislike or resent your favorite band over time because they no longer tie directly into your past experience”. We witness this in a very literal sense here, as we see a devoted Say Anything fan dismember and kill each member of the band.

Say Anything are currently on tour with mewithoutYou, Teen Suicide and Museum Mouth in support of their new record I Don’t Think It Is.  The record was released as a surprise back in February and is, in a lot of ways, a return to Max’s punk roots and the releases on which the band built the foundation of their very dedicated fanbase. On the flipside, I Don’t Think It Is is also the most collaborative Say Anything release to date. Some notable collaborators on the album include Cody Votolato (of the Blood Brothers), Paul Honojos (of At The Drive In), Christian Holden (of Hotelier) and most prominently Darren King of Mutemath whom Max considered a “full partner in the production and composition of the record”.
