The Dear Hunter announce support, 2nd NYC show and more!

By popular demand, The Dear Hunter have confirmed a second show at New York’s Highline Ballroom on their upcoming tour with a string quartet. The new date is on September 5th, the day before the previously announced September 6th show. Support has also been confirmed for the East Coast dates: Brian Marquis will open the first date in Pawtucket, Rhode Island; and Laura Stevenson will open the New York and Philadelphia shows. Full dates listed below.

The Dear Hunter will stream a portion of one of their final rehearsals for the string quartet tour on Sunday, September 1st. The time of the streaming performance will be determined soon; fans should watch StageIt.com for more information.

The band has also posted a stream of a special acoustic version of “Shouting at the Rain,” from their new album Migrant, at TheDearHunter.com. Migrant was released in April by Equal Vision Records, debuting at #57 on the Billboard 200 album chart and top 20 on the Rock, Alternative and Independent charts.

The Dear Hunter will join Transatlantic, Jon Anderson (of Yes), King’s X, Spock’s Beard and other artists on the Progressive Nation at Sea cruise festival, sailing from Miami to Great Stirrup Cay and the Bahamas from February 18-22, 2014.
