The Dear Hunter announces dates with Coheed and Cambria, solo shows
Casey Crescenzo, the multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriting mastermind behind The Dear Hunter, has announced a short series of intimate solo dates for the Fall, as well as two full band shows with Equal Vision Records’ alumni Coheed & Cambria. All dates will include a mix of older fan favorites as well as the revealing of several new, unreleased songs.
The California-based outfit is currently recording at Vu Du Studios in Long Island, NY with producer Mike Watts. The new record will serve as the follow-up to The Dear Hunter’s critically acclaimed 2.5 hour, 9 EP, 36-track collection: The Color Spectrum. The ambitious set of recordings was released as a vinyl/digital box set on June 14, 2011 and later released in a CD format. Following the release of the impressive musical anthology, the band performed at the renowned COACHELLA festival, toured with Manchester Orchestra, and hosted a special performance of The Color Spectrum from start to finish in Boston, MA. The entire one-night-only event was filmed and and is set to be released in late 2012 on DVD.
Of the band’s forthcoming album Crescenzo explains, “I haven’t been more happy, or felt more creative in years, and I am truly anxious to push myself, and my music, to places I still haven’t ventured, and to create the best possible album I can.” The full-length album is expected to be released in early 2013 on Cave & Canary Goods, Crescenzo’s recently launched imprint label on Equal Vision Records.
The Dear Hunter has just completed a tour with Circa Survive frontman Anthony Green, as well as solo dates for Crescenzo with Right Away, Great Captain! – the solo project of Manchester Orchestra’s Andy Hull. All upcoming tour dates for Crescenzo and The Dear Hunter can be seen below.
